Our new helper

We deliberated over the matter for almost 3 years and finally decided to take the plunge.

We decided to get a helper!

The missus has been complaining that she found it difficult to juggle her time between work, taking care of the children and house chores. And now Ryan needs more attention in his school work since he started year 1 and after 3 months still remains pretty oblivious to the importance of actually learning something.

Helpers these days don’t come cheap and this one is no exception. She only vacuums and cleans but is willing to do it more than once a day, with one condition: she gets to rest and recharge for at least 2 hours after 80 minutes of cleaning. The good thing is she is low maintenance and needs very little space. There is no need to provide food or any extra expenses.

Let me introduce you to Ms. Picabot! :)

Hi! I am a much flattened version of R2D2. :)

Does she do a good job? You bet!
Is she worth the money spent? We think so. :)

I tot of getting the Picabot. How is yours doing? Any advice before I make the purchase this few days? TQ.

Mine is still humming along nicely. Definitely a good investment. However there are other models now on the market that are cheaper (I don’t know if they are just as good) and more quiet, so you might want to shop around first.

I hv been surveying Picabot, Roomba, Neato and Cleanmate. Neato is out of my budget. I narrow it down to Roomba 552 or 560 and Picabot. Read too much review, now a bit confuse. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Best Regards.

Roomba was the first to arrive on the scene but IMHO the picabot is just as good. I have used it for more than a year and had not the need to change any parts or even the battery. One full charge gives me at least 40 min of continuous sweeping and vacuuming. :)

This is EXACTLY what I need.

Stick some legs and a pair of pincers and you get the crab-mobile!

Oh, picaBot might just decide to vacuum the legs off.

hmm. we got an i-roomba robot a couple of years ago, it cost us 1.8 k. how much did this picabot cost? is it better than the roomba?

    • Jimbo says:

It costs RM 1488. And yes, it has been shown to be better than the i-Roomba.

      • siehjin says:

cool. is it smarter than the roomba?

i’ve often thought that the roomba’s randomness is pretty dumb. if it’s programmed to cover the ground more systematically, that would definitely be a major plus point.

    • Jimbo says:

I’m afraid the picabot is as dumb as the roomba in that respect. :( the intelligent version would be called a maid!
