The other day,I was driving to work and over the radio, came the voice of the female DJ, all proud and pomp with a hint of malice, as she announced: “Coming up next, more on the Tiger Tales, hear who is the 10th girl who claim to have bedded Tiger Woods!”
You could almost imagine the DJ was dripping with delight as she mouthed each word.
Personally, I felt disgusted.
Now, if you have not been living under a coconut shell, you would have heard or read, by now, the downfall of one of the greatest icon in the sports world: a young professional golfer who rose to fame almost overnight, projecting a squeaky clean image who lots of young people want to follow or be. Almost over night the skeletons in his closet began to tumble out and day by day brought on more and more of the dark side of this icon.
First, one woman said she slept with him. Then another, and another, and another as more and more came out, like vultures fighting over the sinking carcass of a once glorious tiger, claiming to have had illicit liaisons with him!
And the media lapped it up!
They shouted: “Tiger Birdies!” and “Tiger Tales!” and “The latest Tiger Tally!”
Let me categorically state that I do not condone what this icon did nor am I attempting to defend his actions here.
But shame on these women who are now clawing for every last bit of 15 seconds of glamour at the expense of this man’s downfall.
Shame on those of us who delight in reading every juicy bit of the scandal.
Shame on us who never thought of what all this must be doing to the man, his loved ones, his marriage, his career…, while we sit and watch with a holier-than-thou-attitude, and gloat and think “tsk tsk tsk, what an ass”…
I think we should put a stop to this smut.
“Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone…”

Poor that chap. People won’t leave him alone.
i didn’t know it was such a big deal until someone pointed out that “tiger woods” has been trending on twitter for weeks. none of my friends talked about it!
pathetic scandal really.
That’s exactly why I don’t even bother talking about it at the dinner table. Thanks for verbalizing my thoughts.
