Whenever Jimbo takes a group of students for teaching in the ID clinic, inevitably they will ask this question:

“What is the risk of acquiring HIV from anal sex?” (not sure why it has to be anal…)

Jimbo has blogged about this before but here it is again, in a new and probably easier to understand chart:

But it’s a lot like Russian Roulette, of course – one can acquire the infection the first time round or not get it at all, despite many rounds!

So,  if you gonna do it, head on to the local 7-11 or pharmacy first and get some protection. :)

    erm. i hope i’m not being too graphic. but i’m confused re: the insertive vs receptive oral intercourse part. wouldn’t a man play both parts simultaneously? :P

      Umm, to explain it would be too graphic indeed. Imagine a key and a lock. The key is insertive and the lock receptive. The key and lock can be male or female. Hope this helps.
