We were at the lights waiting for the green light to appear.
It was a Saturday morning.
Easy music was playing on the radio.
We just had our breakfast and everyone was happy and contented.
And then, all of a sudden, from the back seat, my 9-year-old daughter blurted out:
“Daddy, I think your balls are getting smaller!”
There was a sudden awkward silence in the car.
I didn’t know how to react.
Time stood still!
A million thoughts came upon me…
My balls?
Why is my kid talking about my balls?
Why SHOULD she be talking about my balls?
Nine is too young to learn the birds and the bees, much less about balls!
And why would she be saying my balls are smaller?!!!
And WHEN did she see my balls?
Just for the record, my family jewels are intact and in NO way diminutive; thank you very much.
My wife (always the wiser one) turned her head around to find out what my kid was talking about.
Actually, Darlene was referring to this:
The gel ‘balls’ in the car air freshener placed at the back dashboard were indeed getting smaller as the solution they were soaked in had evaporated.
And since them ‘balls’ are in my car, so technically speaking, they are indeed my balls!
And yes, they are getting smaller.
LOL!!!!
Phew….
The light turned green and we moved on.
