HIV Update 2008, Seremban

Note: This is a ‘STICKY POST’ which means it will be the ’stick’ on here until it is removed.

I just want to do a bit of publicity for the upcoming ‘HIV Update 2008′ which will be held on the 13 – 14th November 2008 at the Hospital Tuanku Ja’afar, Seremban, Negeri Sembilan.

The meeting is open to all Specialists, MOs, Pharmacists and Nurse Counselors from hospitals (Internal Medicine, O&G and Pediatrics) and Health Clinics in the states of Negeri Sembilan and Melaka.

Medical students are welcomed to come and listen to the talks or join the breakout sessions if they are free. (Gate-crashers are welcomed too, but please let Jimbo know in advance).

Members from the Malaysian AIDS Council and KLASS (Kuala Lumpur AIDS Society and Services) will be present to promote their resources.

Case #56: Sudden LOC

This 45-year-old woman presents with sudden loss of consciousness. On arrival at the ED (some one brought her there and left), she is conscious but no history could be elicited from her. She does not comprehend any instructions or commands. Her BP is 200/120 mmHg, HR 86/min, afebrile, and she does not move the right side of her body while her eyes are deviated to the left.

An urgent CT brain is ordered. Below is one slice of the film:

1. Describe the lesion on the CT brain.
2. Explain her signs and symptoms.
