If a 5 year old…

I took my son up Bukit Kepayang last Saturday morning. He was very upset I didn’t take him along to climb Gunung Datuk earlier. To his puny little legs, Bukit Kepayang is probably as high a mountain as it could be.

Sure it took us double the time to reach the peak (40 minutes as opposed to the 20 minutes if I go alone) and an even longer time to come down (made a little faster by Ryan piggy-backing on his poor daddy’s back!), but we had a great time!

Now, if a 5-year-old can make it up there, what about you?!

A word of caution: NEVER BRING FOOD UP THERE! We brought along some Twiggies and a packet of Milo with us. As soon as we took out the goodies, the entire monkey population on that hill rushed to the peak.! They were menacing as they wanted food. Our food! They scared the daylights out of my kid as he hung tightly to me. I kicked a few of them monkeys into oblivion (one did a 360 degree somersault as a result of my kick! ~ yeah, sue me for animal abuse, but I have a kid (and breakfast) to protect!). I didn’t have time (or enough hands) to take pictures of the aggressive monkeys; just take my word for it, they were aggressive.

We are going again next Saturday, minus the food this time. :-)
