I like to address my patients by name, be it in the ward or in the clinic. However, sometimes it is quite impossible to read the name that is written on the case note, simply because the person who wrote it has ‘calligraphic’ handwriting. Like this one for instance:
While I do agree that it’s probably aesthetically pleasing, it serves no purpose.
In fact, this particular patient was a female!
