The Sound of Rustling Leaves

That’s what my professor used to tell me when teaching us what normal vesicular breath sounds are like when heard with a stethoscope.

This entry is for my young students who might be wondering what exactly does rustling leaves sound like or what do crackles, rales or pleural rubs sound like.

Update: Good grief ! I just took a listen to the sound of ‘pleural rub’ and it sure sounded like some heavy nocturnal activities on a creaky wooden bed !!! Perhaps it’s not such a good idea after all to check out the site !

Medically Credible
