That’s what my professor used to tell me when teaching us what normal vesicular breath sounds are like when heard with a stethoscope.
This entry is for my young students who might be wondering what exactly does rustling leaves sound like or what do crackles, rales or pleural rubs sound like.
Hope this will help you guys be better doctors!
Check out this site and take a listen: LUNG SOUNDS
Update: Good grief ! I just took a listen to the sound of ‘pleural rub’ and it sure sounded like some heavy nocturnal activities on a creaky wooden bed !!! Perhaps it’s not such a good idea after all to check out the site !
On the infrequent occasions that I go blog-hopping, I noticed that most doc blogs have, well, medical stuff (or surgical stuff) and when I look at mine, its content can be classified into 80% of non-medical hocus pocus and just about 10% of medical/pseudomedical stuff.
So, in a bid to lend some credibility to this blog (to make it worthy of being called a Doc’s Blog), and a fair amount of shameless self-advertising, please drop by My Other Site which is hosted by TE Cheah, of which I am one of the contributor.
My last 5 posts there were:
1. Beta Blockers are NOT the same
2. Hold the Aspirin
3. Cocoa is better than tea
4. Cholecystectomy per Vagina
5. We got the right aspirin dose
