In case some people disbelieve that I actually went to present at the recent AGASSI meeting in Mumbai, India, here are some photographic proof!

Yesterday’s meeting with the Dato was brief. I felt profoundly relieved to learn that it was not for some disciplinary or punitive action (I mean, I can’t be bad right, since Christmas is just around the corner). All he wanted to do was to formally welcome me aboard and hand me my new contract.
So, there was a PROMOTION after all, from trainee lecturer to lecturer with a slight jump in salary and allowances. While the salary increase isn’t much, the allowances are significant but unfortunately I only get the allowances after 6 months of service (and credentialing). Sigh! That means I will only see the money next June (gotta stave off the Ah Longs aka money lenders till then).
So, all in all, it was a mixed bag of goodies.
